A film by Jimi Petulla entitled Reversal is the tale
of a
little
man who
has lived and breathed wrestling since he was seven years old. He has
the possibility
to win the state championship as his father
had years before.
Leo's father
Ed, who
also coaches the wrestling team,
has spent his life working a dead in job
in the coal mines near their tiny
Pennsylvania town.
He
pushes his son to stand
out
and win a wrestling scholarship, to leave
the dangerous
life Ed has lived since
he was state champion.
Leo has begun
to chafe under the constant
training, and rebels against what he sees as his father's
attempt to live vicariously through
him.Reversal
is a marvelously crafted coming of age story,
that has its roots in the reality
tale
of author
creator
Jimi Petulla.
Petulla followed the sage assistance
of composing
what he knows
Leo's life resembles
Petulla's own.
It is a gritty, true
to life photo
of the sport of high
school wrestling, set in a
small east coastline
village.Several
novice
entertainers
have taken
part
in the movie.
Petulla plays the role of Coach Ed Leone, a
dad who
pushes his son to win at wrestling in order to win college
and university learning
he himself never had. Amongst
the non-athletes, novice
Kelly Vint attracts
attention
as the lead character's sweetheart.
This
is a sports oriented, household
favorable
film,
and has been offered
high marks from beyond
a
couple of players,
consisting
of Olympic medalists Kurt Angle, Carl Lewis and Shannon Miller.
Players
have noted
that the movie
depicted
the difficulties
they have experienced with
training, discipline
and competition.
A film by Jimi Petulla, has been shown at several
fest around the country
over the last year, obtaining,
amongst
additional
recognition,
an Audience Choice Award at the 2002 Malibu Fest, the Dove "Family Approved"
Seal, and the most recently, Best Feature at the 2003 Durango Film
Festival.
Petulla tried
to release the film
with
the standard
theatrical release routes,
but
found
the cost
of discount
and advertising
to be expensive.
As
a
choice,
he utilized
the support
of the world
wide web.
Uploading
three hours of bonus
to the movie
particularly
designed
to appeal
to proponents
of the sport of wrestling and supplied
both DVD and expanded
VHS versions
for sale at www.reversalthemovie.com. Petulla
has set an
objective
of selling
25,000 by the end of 2003; if it occurs,
it will be a first.
